Join us for SilverSneakers Chair Yoga! In this class, you will move through traditional yoga postures with the addition of a chair as a prop. Poses will only be done standing and/or seated in a chair. Gentle Yoga Standing and seated yoga poses to increase flexibility, balance and range of motion.  Modifications for poses will be offered, but students must be able to get down to the floor and up again unassisted.LEVEL 2 CLASSGentle Flow Yoga This class incorporates simple flowing sequences to warm up the body, as well as slower paced movements focusing on alignment, strength, balance and flexibility. Join us for Hand and Foot from 12:30pm-4pm. It is a North American game related to Canasta, in which each player is dealt two sets of cards - the hand, which is played first, and the foot, which is played when the hand has been used up.

These leagues will be combined with Berea, Avon Lake, Fairview Park, North Ridgeville, & Olmsted Falls so some travel is required. Games will be held on Saturday’s starting April 21 and end on June 2. No games Memorial Day Weekend. Home games will be held at Weiss Field. The league will be played as 5v5. If registrations for all cities are low we will combine leagues. Practices will take place on weekday evenings. Games take place on various times Saturdays. Gameday times are based off of the different community locations availability.

Standing upper-body strength work alternated with low impact cardio using a chair for standing support. A perfect 50+ class that incorporates stretching, balance, agility and strength, along with fun music. This class utilizes various equipment, such as weights, exercise balls, drumming sticks, and much more. Games will be held on Saturday’s starting April 21 and end on June 2. No games Memorial Day Weekend. Home games will be held at Weiss Field. The league will be played as 5v5. If registrations for all cities are low we will combine leagues. Practices will take place on weekday evenings. Games take place on various times Saturdays. Gameday times are based off of the different community locations availability.

Children will learn the basic fundamentals and experience a positive and rewarding introduction to the sport of tennis. *Must be at least 5 years of age by start of program. All players are split up by age and skill level. 13 and Over - All skill levels are welcome! 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM    Safety Town Program - June 10 - 14, 2024 - Session One
Safety Town is an interactive educational program that is designed to educate children on a variety of safety topics and techniques that can be utilized in real life situations.  The program is designed for children entering kindergarten in the fall. A daily theme can include but is not limited to traffic and pedestrian safety, stranger and drug safety, bicycle and animal awareness, home safety and emergency telephone use, police interaction, fire safety, school bus and seatbelt safety, and outdoor and water safety. Safety Town takes place at Westview Elementary School located at 155 Moore Rd.  This safety education program is offered to children entering kindergarten.  One important goal is for each child to be able to state their full name, address and phone number. Participants will receive instruction on how to protect themselves from strangers, and meet the people who provide safety services to our city.  They will ride on an actual school bus, and receive instruction on school bus safety. A staff consisting of two certified teachers and several youth volunteers from our community will be present daily to help the children learn about important safety issues.  The children will spend part of their day outdoors (weather permitting) learning how to stay safe in a miniature town that includes crosswalks, traffic signals, and sidewalks. They will ride around their town on kit cars with supervision from our staff. The program is especially helpful to those suffering the effects of Parkinson's Disease and Multiple Sclerosis. 11:15 AM - 1:15 PM    Safety Town Program - June 10 - 14, 2024 - Session Two
Safety Town is an interactive educational program that is designed to educate children on a variety of safety topics and techniques that can be utilized in real life situations.  The program is designed for children entering kindergarten in the fall. A daily theme can include but is not limited to traffic and pedestrian safety, stranger and drug safety, bicycle and animal awareness, home safety and emergency telephone use, police interaction, fire safety, school bus and seatbelt safety, and outdoor and water safety. Safety Town takes place at Westview Elementary School located at 155 Moore Rd.  This safety education program is offered to children entering kindergarten.  One important goal is for each child to be able to state their full name, address and phone number. Participants will receive instruction on how to protect themselves from strangers, and meet the people who provide safety services to our city.  They will ride on an actual school bus, and receive instruction on school bus safety. A staff consisting of two certified teachers and several youth volunteers from our community will be present daily to help the children learn about important safety issues.  The children will spend part of their day outdoors (weather permitting) learning how to stay safe in a miniature town that includes crosswalks, traffic signals, and sidewalks. They will ride around their town on kit cars with supervision from our staff. The Avon Lake Recreation Department is excited to present the fourth summer of Theater Camp (formerly known as Avon Lake Fine Arts Camp).  Led and created by the talented Susan Vance-Koch. The Theater Camp will be an all-encompassing arts experience where campers will be encouraged to explore their creative talents in music, dance, theater and visual arts.  At the end of the three-week session, campers will perform on stage at the Avon Lake High School Performing Arts Center.  Session One: “Genies in a Bottle” Our campers will be experiencing many exciting and magical adventures after they discover the 6 Genies of ALFA!
